Cristina Ryan was introduced to the performing arts at a young age. From the age of four she trained as a ballet dancer and was a member of the Billy Barry Stage School. She took part in several ‘Acting for Film’ courses at the Gaiety School of Acting and studied classical violin and piano at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal Academy of Music, London and then returned to Ireland to do a Masters in Music Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

 

She decided to pursue her love of acting and trained at the Irish Film Academy. She was cast as the lead role of Irelands first female serial killer 'Sophie' beating over 2,500 applicants for the film adaptation of Natasha Whites BOOK 'Camouflage' - due for international cinema release Spring 2016. She was part of the cast of 'The Northsiders' TV Programme playing the role of 'Celine'. She played the female lead character 'Amy' in the feature film 'Soulsmith' which is due for release Autumn 2015. Other roles she is recognized for is 'Sarah' in the award winning short film 'Guy at the bar'. She is also known for her role portraying the legendary 'Dorcas Kelly' who was an Irish figure who having been associated with the HellFire Club was burned at the stake in the 18th Century for supposed witchcraft. Other projects include short horror 'Capture' and the dark psychological thriller 'Behind closed doors'.
